Excellent opportunity with boutique downtown tax specialist firm that has been in business for many decades. The successful candidate will transition into the Managing Partner role within a few years. Only candidates capable of functioning at a Tax Partner level upon joining the firm will be considered.
DUTIES:
Tax planning for clients – both personal and corporate
Preparation of tax opinions, technical tax memoranda and steps memoranda re corporate reorganizations
Special projects and research
Research and analysis on a wide range of tax issues, including assistance with structuring of domestic and international tax related matters
Communication and negotiation with CRA on client matters
Provide leadership and advanced technical tax assistance to professional staff
Mentor professional staff
Encourage a positive creative workplace culture
REQUIREMENTS:
Extensive knowledge and experience in a broad range of income tax matters
CPA designation
Creative, analytical and critical thinking skills
Constant attention to detail combined with an active imagination
Outstanding written and oral communication skills
Strong time management skills
Demonstrated leadership ability
Proven track record as a senior tax specialist
